The second O-cup and first OUAA qualifying race took place at Highlands Nordic in Duntroon, near Collingwood, over the weekend. Rain and warm temperatures through the week threatened snow conditions for the races but cooler weekend temperatures and some fresh snow made for good racing. Over 300 racers were in attendance for an 8km men's classic and 5km women's classic on Saturday and a 15km men's and 10km women's skate races on Sunday. Andrew Rees, just back from training at the Canmore Nordic Center, placed 23rd overall (11th OUAA class) in the classic race and 20th in the skate. Stephanie Rees placed 23rd overall in the classic (14th OUAA class) and 19th in the skate.
