The 2005 Ontario University championships were held at the North Bay Nordic Ski Club over the weekend. 44 men raced a 10km skate, 4.5 km relay on Saturday and a 15km classic on Sunday. 50 women raced a 5km skate, 3.0km relay on Sat and a 10km classic on Sun. Andrew Rees, skiing for the University of Waterloo skated to an 11th place finish in Saturday's race, only 40 seconds from 5th place. Rees also started the relay and handed off in 5th place, right behind U of Guelph. Stephanie Rees, skiing for the University of Toronto, skated to 29th place in a tightly contested women's race - she was only a minute from the top 10. On Sunday A. Rees raced to a 12th place finish, only 3 seconds from the top 10, earning him OUAA-ALL STAR status with 10th place overall combined. S. Rees improved positions to 20th with a strong classic race on Sunday.
